Vanlynk | Staff mobile App

Overview

The Vanlynk mobile app is the field facing half of the platform contractors use to run their service businesses. Where the web product is built for the office, dispatchers, admins, and managers, this app is built for the technician in the van. It puts a worker’s whole day in their pocket: the jobs assigned to them, where to be and when, the work order details they need on site, and the ability to update status, log what they did, and close out a job without calling back to the office. It takes the parts of Vanlynk that matter in the field and reshapes them for a phone, one-handed, on the move, and often between stops.

The Problem

A field service business doesn’t happen at a desk, but Vanlynk’s tools largely did. Technicians in the field had no proper companion to the web platform, so the day-to-day reality of the job, checking the next stop, reading work order notes, marking something complete, lived in phone calls, texts, and paperwork that only made it into the system once someone got back to the office. That gap slowed everything down and left the office working from stale information. The goal was to design a mobile experience purpose built for the field: fast, focused on the few things a technician actually needs in the moment, and able to keep the office and the field in sync in real time.
